2nd Annual Season Pass Party at Mt. High with Steven Lopez

For: Sept. 2nd, 2006 Wrightwood CA

Press Release Link

Mountain High’s second annual Buck Off season pass promotion is less than 2 months away. On September 2nd the Wrightwood resort will truck in over 80 tons of snow and give pass holders the opportunity to let loose on an assortment of rails and boxes at its East Resort. Aside from the early-season shred session, guests can stroll through the vendor village, watch live musical performances, chow down on venison burgers & deer jerky, and, new this year, witness a live rail-painting exhibition produced by Steven Lopez and frustr8.com

The Buck Off rail jam presented by Powder & Sun is the kick-off to Mountain High’s annual season pass sale. This year guests can save up to $300.00 “bucks” off a 2006/07 adult, anytime season pass. Regularly $599.00, prices drop to just $299.00 for the first 5,000 sold, and $349.00 for the second 5,000 sold. Sale takes place from September 1st to October 31st OR sold out. Last year, the first 5,000 passes were sold in just 5 days. Passes may be purchased online at http://www.mthigh.com or by phone at (888) 754-7878, but participants who purchase their pass at Mountain High on September 2nd will receive a limited-edition Buck Off card to commemorate the event.

The season pass office will open at 8:00am with the festival beginning at 10:00am. Riding will take place from 1pm to 5pm with live music beginning at 4:30pm. Guests are invited to stick around for the after party where they can listen to great bands the Sweatshop Union, the Asphalt and more, mingle with the Faultline terrain park designers, and quench their thirst for just a buck-a-beer.

To ride the rails, guests must have a 2006/07 season pass and a helmet. Those who purchase their pass prior to the event must bring their receipt. This year nearly twice as many features will be available with options for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.

Says Justin Montoya, Terrain Park Manager, “We noticed a lot of traffic at last year’s event so to alleviate that situation we came up with a new layout and quadrupled the number of entrances. I can’t tell you what rails and boxes you’ll see that day, but expect some of your favorite Mountain High features along with new creations just built this summer.”

For those not interested in strapping in, there are plenty of other activities going on. In the vendor village guests can check out the latest products from brands like Burton, Etnies and Quiksilver, get huge deals on snowboarding equipment from Powder & Sun, and catch live performances from The Sweatshop Union, The Asphalt and more.

New this year, a live rail-painting exhibition produced by frustr8.com will take place on the West side of the festival area. Steve Lopez and a group of talented artists will transform several of Mountain High’s rails and boxes into works of art which guests can ride later this season. Check in anytime between 9:00am and 6:00pm to see the hard work and creativity of these talented individuals first hand.

Says Steven Lopez, “Mountain High is setting the standard with its sensory-rich environment, and it won't be long before other resorts follow in the quality of art and terrain features. I'll be joined by some of the best artists that Southern California has to offer. Each person is a master in their own right and I am honored to paint with them at the Buck Off event.”
