Swerve Festival = New Sheriff In Los Angeles
The Swerve Festival landed in Los Angeles with the force of Thor's hammer on September 28-30, 2007. A celebration of west coast creative culture, Swerve featured the best and brightest in the film, music, and art.
Working with our friends at FUEL TV, Global Inheritance was able to integrate new and classic programs to this years first ever Swerve Festival. On the menu, the mighty ethanol tree that cooked popcorn, TRASHed :: Art of Recycling featuring over 20 redesigned recycling bins, Tour De Swerve Bikes that powered everything from cell phones to disco balls, TRASHed :: Recycling Store where people exchanged bottles/cans collected onsite or electronic equipment brought from home in exchange for Darjeeling Limited screening passes, Fuel TV skate decks, Guitar Hero, Logitech Speakers, and even Bulldog puppies.
Thanks to all of you who participated in GI's 4 days of Public Display of Affection program and won big by taking Public Transportation, skateboarding or simply riding your bike to the event.
Thank to all our wonderful volunteers Tatianna, Ben, Ellen, Whitney and Tranx for all you help!!! Of course we couldn't have done anything without the support of FUEL TV and their amazing staff along with our great friends at Flux and Tadpole Marketing.
Special thanks to our TRASHed Art of Recycling Artists who showed Swerve Festival goers what it means to reuse, reduce and redesign... Renee Lawter, Jeremiah Garcia, Kofie, Paul Torres, Ryan Riss, Marcela Lineiro Singleton, Justin Odaffer, Vague, Ichae Ackso, Sonik Mercury, Randy Kono, 13:11, Bobby Holland, Carol Powell, Kyle Harper, Douglas Alvarez, Rebecca Paul, Steven Lopez + more.
The Swerve Festival presented Global Inheritance founder, Eric Ritz, with the first Swerve Inspirational person award. In a shocking gesture of support, Jason Lee wept while giving him the award.
