I’ve been messing around with the palette knife around a year now. It’s starting to feel like a butter knife… so smooth. Enjoy it in the paint section and see it in person at Old Crow gallery in Oakland during the month of May.

Little more than a month a way from my opening show at Old Crow in Oakland; Here’s a close-up  of someone work in progress.

I’d be lying to you if I said I know played the role of the bad guy. Without the women in my past and present life I’d surely be off a darker path.

I’ve been painting this one a few days a week. Im currently focused on the directional lighting and building the background. I have many stories going on in this piece. As they start to reveal themselves I’ll talk about them at that time.

Moving right along with a new piece for Old Crow gallery in May. Work in progress.

I got into some sketching last night and came up with this facial design. I like the two tone treatment to define her facial structure. I’ll expand on this in later paintings.

This blog got neglected during the new year shuffle. Where have I been? I took a few weeks off to get myself in order. Near the end of December I had to put stuff on hold and reload. It wasn’t until the third week in January that I started to pick things up again (and yet I still wasn’t posting on here). If you follow me on Facebook you’d see some of the sketches on there. I’ll be doing the same on here. I promise (sorta).  In the mean time… I’m getting ready for a show at Old Crow gallery in Oakland CA. That’ll take place in May. The cats out there show some superb stuff and I’m glad to be in the ranks.
