Good day people. Viento y Agua Coffee House and Gallery will be hosting my work this month in Long Beach CA. Opening night will be Saturday July 10th. Glenn Red Of Afro Funke´will be on the turntables from 7 to 10. If you know who he is then you know his music selection is eclectic and funky. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces.

Greetings everybody. I’ve been grinding away on the canvas and some new birds have have landed in my studio. I’m completely entranced with their state of being, flight and language. It’s hard to believe that these little winged creatures can be descendants of giant reptiles. My mission in this series has been to loosen my stroke and to develop a softer feeling that compliments the hard edges of my polymorphic style. This is a great exercise which will lend itself to the bigger-story driven pieces I have in the studio. Check the paintings page for their titles and dimensions

Last month I worked on a large scale advertisement for Dunkin’ Donuts. This behemoth of a project has made it’s home in New York’s world famous Time-Square landscape. As far as I know, Dunkin’ Donuts has leased the area for a year. While painting this mural there was a film crew that did an excellent job of editing the time lapse process and a behind-the-scenes look. The people at Dunkin’ even went so far as to build a website based around this multi-media project…

I hope all you guys have noticed the new design of the site. Thanks to my friend Greg at Graphic Agenda for the super clean work. This week (Thursday) I will be at Zanzibar in Santa Monica for another night of cool rhythms and fresh styles for Afro Funke. This time around my good friend Ervin will be on the turntables while I paint. Let’s not forget Jeremy Sole of KCRW and Glenn Red will be the pillars for the AF sound.

I got four activities going on this week (I’ll only be able to attend three of them). This Thursday (5/18) Onecypher.com and Crazy Legs of the World Famous Rocksteady Crew will be having a private screening of “Bouncing Cats”. It’s an inspiring story about b-boys in Uganda overcoming their hardships. I will be there donating my time and art to this charitable event. Next on the menu is a commercial I will be working on for Dunkin Donuts on Friday. After that is done I will be heading over to USC (on Saturday evening) for a celebration of the CoachArt Collective. This fine groups mission is to improve the quality of life for  children who have chronic and life-threatening illnesses. And last but not least, i will have a painting over at the group show, Cannibal Flower (Satuday night).

So the move took place. Everything did not go as planned but this journey must keep moving. I’ve got some little birdies that I want to show you. So here we go…

I’m definitely sitting at the computer a majority of the time. But I still need to communicate to you to the outside world. You can follow me on my Facebook fan pages. Now for some really good news. My site will be getting revamped in the coming months with a June completion date. Sorry that the shopping cart is out of order. The new site will have it’s own shopping cart which will make purchases simple and efficient.

In the mean time, summer is fast approaching and the Mrs. and I are getting ready to move into a house. This will be exciting! a whole garage to myself. The old place is starting to look like a war-zone and it’s hard to figure what to pack when you realize that, what you just packed needs to be used again. phooey! So the next few weeks will be filled with other things besides art. I’ll try and make the best of it.

Tonight is the Downtown LA artwalk. It’s a big festivity that keeps getting bigger every time I go. After you see the LA art come through to Club Nokia for the I am a laser function. I’ll be live painting with color chemists John Park and Erik Siador.
